Shih-fang Wang

Under the Moonlight

Deep in the night, quietly the moon glides
with a silver wand it hushes the earth
Nocturnal creatures are out hidden sides
Pay heed, dare not disturb them with loud mirth
The mountains go to sleep and trees stand still
The wind hums softly, the stream lulls low too
The cats caterwaul, the frogs croak and trill
The sweet lovers in the wild bill and coo
They croon faint moans of primordial calling
The cats mount and scream, the frogs leap and grasp
The lovers merrily intertwining
vibrate with the nature.  Tightly enclasped
they enter into ecstatic delight
in the magic spell under the moonlight
